Our Story
Walking on Sunshine Farms is a small family farm located just outside of Burlington, Indiana. Founded by Michelle Alexander, the farm was built around a lifelong passion for horses, horsemanship, and helping riders grow in confidence both in and out of the saddle.
Michelle brings over 20 years of English riding experience with an emphasis in hunter/jumper, including competing nationally on the AA circuit up to 1.20m. Today, Walking on Sunshine Farms combines that competitive foundation with a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where riders of all ages can learn, grow, and enjoy horses in a fun and encouraging environment.
Future 4H Program
Walking on Sunshine Farms hopes to develop a small 4-H riding team focused on horsemanship, confidence, sportsmanship, and English riding fundamentals. This future program would be designed for riders under 18 who already have some prior horse experience and are interested in growing their skills in a supportive team environment.
We also plan to offer haul-in opportunities for riders with their own horses. If you are interested in joining a future 4-H program, we’d love to hear from you — contact us to learn more or join the interest list.
